Chocolate Chip Protein Donuts are a great breakfast or post-workout snack because they are FULL of protein and also SUPER yummy. They are an especially yummy treat when the sweet cravings kick in.
The ingredients I use to make these donuts are a lot lower in sugar & carbs than what is used in most donuts and a lot higher in protein. I use Birch Benders Protein Pancake & Waffle Mix or Kodiak Cakes Protein Pancake & Waffle Mix, they are both around the same amount of carbs and protein. I recommend using oat milk or almond milk for this recipe because they are lower in fat and higher in protein than regular milk. Walden Farms USA has the best calorie-free maple walnut syrup and I have not eaten another maple syrup since trying it, it sweetens up the donuts without all the added sugars. These donuts are by far one of my favorite recipes I’ve made, and my favorite way to eat them is with some So Delicious No Sugar Added Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk Ice Cream.
